On Earth Day this Year, I found myself thinking about Hope. And Because I love stories, lets start with a story that's a little bit about just that.
Yesterday was Earth Day - a very special day all over the world. But shouldn't every day be earth day? Sometimes it can be hard to understand why more hasn't already happened to stop climate change. Sometimes it's might feel like not enough people are listening and working on this. But, hope is a powerful thing and helps keep us all working towards our shared goal - of helping the Earth and stopping climate change. Earth Club is made up of very young children and you are all doing so much already... but what about the grown ups I wonder... Let's have a look at this short video by two true Earth Heros.
What connections can we make between the first story and some of the things David Attendborough and Greta Thunberg were talking about in their video?
Ok, lets look at another story now. Hope sometimes starts with a wish, a wish for something or for someone. And when we share that wish with enough people, I think it becomes hope. Greta Thunberg and David Attenborough represent hope for many people, because they are taking our wishes - for a healthier planet and they are working on them every single day. Earth Club - YOU represent hope, and so do all your friends who aren't in Earth Club but are also taking action and helping others and helping the planet.
If we connect the stories and what our Earth Heros spoke about in the video - now what do we get? Who do you wish good things for? And who wishes good things for you?

One More Story
Making a change or following our path, and doing what we are meant to do or what feels right to us, sometimes can be hard. Even coming to Earth Club each week, you have to actively choose to join in and take action, rather than playing or doing another activity, but it's not alway easy. This book is just about that.
Art Time
Helping our planet and solving climate change will take more than our wishes - it will take all of our action every day. But, wishes are important, because they are the begining of hope for something better, and that kind of hope is the begining of action, and action is the begning of change. So lets start with wishing upon a star and sending our hopes and dreams out into the world.
